Blogger was indescribably better before Google bought them.
I returned to blogging after over a year's absence, only to discover that though my account still existed, I now had to link it to a gmail account.
Once I had done that, I discovered that my blog was gone. Poof, just gone. I tried to sign up again, but apparently some feminist had stolen my blog name. (Although she has yet to post a single thing - she's just squatting there.)
Then, within 24 hours of creating this new blog, it was marked as spam. It didn't have a single post yet, and in spite of that it still violated the rules. How a blog with zero text and zero links can exhibit "irrelevant, repetitive, or nonsensical text" or "a large number of links, usually all pointing to a single site" is beyond me, but Google's spam-catching algorithm apparently knows more than I do.
Finally, after requesting a review by a human being to prove that my empty site was not, in fact, spamming, I was told it would take four business days. Four business days? That's ridiculous. After waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting, I still never heard anything from Google. That's right, they never sent me an email to let me know my site had been cleared of its "guilty until proved innocent" status. I finally found out by logging in and discovering that they were allowing me to post again.
Google sucks.
